Concerning measures for print failures from Gimp/FireFox/Gedit

Printing from Gimp/FireFox/Gedit may fail with the following error message displayed on CUPS Web Admin.

    "/usr/lib/cups/filter/pips-wrapper failed"

The cause of the error when direct printing from an application has not been identified.

[Workaround]
Printing is possible by outputting to a postscript file without selecting a printer, and using the lpr command.
See the following for the details of operations.

When using FireFox
1. Select [File] - [Print] from the menu.
2. Select [Print to File] on the [General] tab.
3. Click the [Print] button.
4. Enter the output file name.
   (Example: output.ps (in the home directory).)
5. Start the terminal.
6. Use the lpr command to print the file which was saved in step 4.
   $ lpr -P output.ps

Likewise, output to a postscript file and use the lpr command to print in Gedit/Gimp.
