[Phenomenon]
A print error occurs when printing directly from Gimp2.6.x.

[Applicable driver]
- Photo Image Print System
- Photo Image Print System Lite (only when selecting media sizes supporting borderless print mode)

[Work Around]
Output print data to a PostScript file from Gimp once and then print it using the lpr command.
See below for detailed procedures.

      In the case of Fedora10
    1. Before printing from Gimp, you need to register your printer in CUPS.
Refer to each printer driver manual for how to register the printer.
    2. Set the media size actually used to the printer registered in CUPS.
CUPS - Set Printer Option - Set the Media Size
When changing media settings, you must click the "Set Printer Option" button each time to register the settings.
    3. Click [file]-[Page Setup] from the menu in Gimp
    4. Format for: Select "Any Printer".
    5. Paper Size: Specify the media size selected in step 2. Do not select the media size including a specific numeric size such as A4 210 × 297 mm. Select the media size such as A4.
    6. Click the Apply button to close the setting window.
    7. Click [file]-[Print] from the menu of Gimp.
    8. Select [Print to File] from the [General] tab and enter the output file name in Name:.
    9. Click [Image Settings] tab to check the Print Preview. If its size is not correct, adjust it here.
    10. Click [Print] button.
    11. Start the terminal.
    12. Specify the file name entered in step 8 and print it using the lpr command.
      $ lpr -P <printer model> <file name>

[Sample settings for borderless printing]
Media size setting in CUPS : A4 210 × 297 mm (Borderless)
Media size setting in Gimp : A4
Note : In CUPS, select a media size that supports borderless print mode.
