Cannot print to AcuLaser C900 equipped with PRIFNW3 through the network

I installed the GS-LPD RPM package for FC3's i386 architecture on
FC4 for a x86-64 but I can't print. Does this work at all?

Yes, but the original ghostscript package may be in the way.,When installing our GS-LPD RPM for i386 FC3 on current (July 2005) versions of FC3 or on FC4, the original ghostscript-7.07-33 package remains installed and causes our ghostscript-7.07-33ep3.2.0 to be ignored.

You can check whether you are afflicted with this problem by

$ rpm -qa ghostscript
ghostscript-7.07-33ep3.2.0
ghostscript-7.07-33

If this lists two packages like above, you are afflicted.

You can fix this by forcibly uninstalling *both* ghostscript packages and reinstalling the GS-LPD RPM for FC3's i386. Like so

# rpm -e --nodeps ghostscript-7.07-33ep3.2.0
# rpm -e --nodeps ghostscript-7.07-33
# rpm -U ghostscript-7.07-33ep3.2.0.i386.rpm

You can check whether this went alright with

# rpm -qa ghostscript
ghostscript-7.07-33ep3.2.0

which should show only the one package above.
